Ayesha Takia was born in Mumbai on April 10th 1986. Her father’s name is Nishit, a Gujarati and her mother’s name is Faridah, who is half Maharashtrian and half Caucasian British. Ayesha Takia is an Indian actress who mainly appears in Bollywood films. Takia began her career as a model when she was 15, appearing in the “I am a Complan Boy! Ayesha had never let her lack of speaking Hindi fluently come in her way. A go-getter, she is no stranger to the silver screen and has faced cameras even at the tender age of 4. Her continuity was what got her noticed and the makers of ‘Socha Na Tha’ approached her in 2004 to play the lead role opposite Dharmendra’s nephew Abhay Deol which she accepted. She signed a contract to appear in Socha Na Tha, then for Taarzan: The Wonder Car. However, delays making Socha Na Tha meant that Taarzan was released first and was therefore her “debut” film. She won the Filmfare Best Debut Award in 2004 for her performance in the film. Her notable films include Dor (2006), for which she won the Screen Award for Best Actress (Critics), Salaam-E-Ishq (2007) and Wanted (2009).
